Would this be needed on a 2024 Chevy, in order to make elec/hydraulic trailer brakes work?

Yes, a module like the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module # HBA-CAM is going to be needed on a 2024 Chevrolet with factory brake controller. I have seen issues already reported of the factory brake not working on an electric over hydraulic brake system.
