Is It Okay To Mix & Match Lippert Cushioned Equalizers With MORryde Shackles On Tandem Axle Trailer?

Question:

recently inquired about the Road Armor suspension and mounting Shackle kit. The Road Armor is a Lippert product and you recommended the MorRyde Shackle kit instead of the Lippert Shackle Kit. Is it ok to switch mfgs. for the shackle kits and does the MorRyde have an improvement over the Lippert kit?

It is okay to mix and match the Lippert Road Armor # LC696740 with the MORryde 2-1/4" # MR46ZR or 3-1/8" # MR76ZR shackle straps. The MORryde shackles are superior in construction to the Lippert kits we currently carry. MORryde did just release their MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizers # MR29DR. These provide up to 4" of suspension travel in the equalizer alone which is much greater than than Lippert offerings. We have installed this on a few trailers so far in our shop and have been very happy with the immediate results but only time will tell on how they hold up over time.
