Question:
I hooked up a etbc7l 7 way 4way harness so I could use a Curt Echo. Wiring went fine but the controller will not give me a green light. The brakes have not been installed on the trailer. Also when I use the manual button I get a voltage overload warning. Is this all because the brakes have not been installed and there is blue wire not connected.

Expert Reply:
The problem is that you don't have a trailer connector to your tow vehicle that has brakes installed. The green light of the Curt Echo # C51180 only comes on with the device paired and a trailer connected. The trailer connection status is based on the controller detecting brake magnets. So since your trailer doesn't have brakes yet what you are seeing is normal.
