Is The Rear Bumper On 2016 Lance 1985 Strong Enough To Support Carrying a Spare Tire?

I own a 2016 Lance model 1985. The spare tire is mounted under the front tongue. Adds weight to the already undesired heavy tongue. The rear bumper is not square tube but fairly thin gauge steel channel. Is this strong enough to safely hold tire and carrier? Reinforced somehow?

As Lance did not position the spare tire on the rear bumper I would say it is not strong enough to support any additional weight. We do have the Mount-n-Lock Heavy-Haul'r Replacement RV Bumper # MNT43VR which is rated for up to 500lbs and includes a stronger bumper tube and mounting brackets. This will allow you to add the Ultra-Fab Folding Spare Tire Carrier # UF15-954730 along with Cargo Tray # MNT67ZR for additional gear.
