When to Set Up Weight Distribution on Vehicle that has Auto Leveling Suspension
Updated 05/10/2023 | Published 05/09/2023 >
Question:
I have a Ram 1500 with factory auto levelling air suspension. Im in the process of installing a curt weight distribution/anti sway bar system. My question ? Id like to get some information about the state the air suspension should be in while installing the wdh. Some say disable the air suspension or put it in jack mode. If I do this, wouldnt the auto levelling later throw of the numbers/negatively impact the force on the wdh levelling bars ? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
When using weight distribution on a vehicle that has auto leveling suspension you want to put the weight of the trailer's tongue weight on the vehicle hitch to activate the auto leveling function and then once it has settled set up the weight distribution system. This allows the two to work together instead of against each other.
