I need a class 1 hitch for my Honda Element. It’s for a rear mount cargo basket. I have no idea what to get so am needing guidance. Thank you.

To add a class I hitch to your 2003 Honda Element you will want the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C11700. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Honda with included hardware. This hitch only has a 200 lbs tongue weight capacity though.
I looked online and your Element has either a 300 lbs or 350 lbs tongue weight. With this in mind I recommend going with a class III 2" hitch like item # e78KR and using a reducer sleeve item # HT02. This hitch has a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight and the reducer sleeve will allow you to mount your class I cargo basket in the 2" receiver without sacrificing capacity.
