Replacement Lock Cores / Replacement Roof Box Option for an Older Yakima Space Case

Question:

I have a older space booster unit that the key system housing has been drilled out with a oversize drill bit looks like 1/2 inch... this ruined the complete outer componet that the key core fits in... I need the complete lock system or kit that would replace all parts to get this working again can you supply me with all parts to get this fixed? Thank you for your reply...

To get the locking mechanism on your Yakima Space Booster up and running again, you're just going to need the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07202.

This kit comes with 2 keys, 2 cores, and one universal change key. What it sounds like happened is the previous owner lost their original keys and couldn't open the rack, so they drilled out the core but never replaced the lock core. This kit will provide you with that replacement plus a spare key (just in case).

If your entire housing is ruined then there is not going to be a replacement for you and your best bet would be to replace the entire unit with a new unit such as the Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y07337.
