Does the Bar on the etrailer SD Tow Bar Connect to the Base Plate for a 2016 Jeep Patriot?

Question:

I purchased the e44ZR tow bar with the 521441-1 base plate kit. The tow bar looks like it has a bar attached to it. Will I need to take that bar off of the tow bar kit to attach it to the base plate that will be attached to the Jeep?

The bar at the end of the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar item # e44ZR will attach to the arms on the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit item # 521441-1. This is a crossbar style base plate kit which has removable arms that attach to the bar on the etrailer tow bar. You definitely need to use the bar.
