Can You Power a Trailer Roof Vent Fan from a Ceiling Light
Updated 04/19/2023 | Published 04/18/2023 >
Question:
I have a Winnebago Micro Minnie with a standard no fan vent. There is a ceiling light 3-4 inches from the the vent. Do you think it would be possible to connect the fan to the 12 volt light? Thanks

It's possible to power a roof vent fan from an existing light but it really comes down to the wire size used for that light and the amp rating of the circuit. The Ventline E-Z Lift Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent part # V3094-603-00 is your best shot at this as it has a pretty small motor which only requires 1.2 amps. It could use an 18 gauge wire for distances up to 32' or a 16 gauge wire for distances up to 50'.
