Question:
Just to be sure, if I am running my inverter in my trailer and my wife accidently plugs trailer into shore power which would be the primary the switch will stop the 120v shore power from back feeding the inverter?

Each inverter is going to have a very specific way to wire it into your trailer's electrical system in order to prevent the power loop you're referring to. In some cases where an inverter doesn't come with a transfer switch and requires one like the # PD5110010Q you would just need to wire the inverter to the generator post to have the inverter power separated from the shore power and automatically cut the power from the inverter whenever shore power is connected.
