Is a Dometic 15K Btu RV AC Unit Quieter Than 13.5K Btu RV AC

Question:

I have a domatic 13,500 BTU original unit 2019 coachmen free Lander being told by multiple people and parts people as well that a 15,000 BTU unit would be quieter not sure which way to move , we are full timers, thanks Jack Ps would like to have the quietest unit possible , my rig is 24 feet long small but mighty we are loving it easy to drive

I do have an option for you but we do not carry Dometic RV Rooftop AC units so I cannot attest to that. However, for most of our units, there won't be much of a difference in decibels when switching sizes but there is when switching brands. The quietest units we offer are from Furrion, the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System part # FR82PV for 13,500 BTU or part # FR42PV for 15,000 BTU. These units both run around 60 dB's inside and 80dB's outside. They are direct replacements for Dometic units so you can use your existing controls. For comparison, Advent units can run as high as 76 dB's and Atwood units can run as high as 66 dB's
