Question:
I,m looking closely at these two racks, Can you tell me how the Precision-Slide Clamping System on the Hollywood rack compares to the ratchet hold down system on the Swagman? I know the Swagman can be locked, but is there any chance of the Hollywood system failing because its not lockable? Both racks have great reviews, but the Hollywood looks more durable, plus it folds down . Any other opinions on these two racks would be appreciated. Thanks

I would not be concerned about the Hollywood Racks Precision-clamping system failing. The hooks use a large spring to compress the hooks to the upright mast and provide a grip that is just as strong as the ratcheting hooks of the Swagman XTC-2 bike rack,# S64670.
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack, # HR1450Z, that you referenced and the Swagman XTC-2 and comparable bike racks with a slight edge going to the SE2. The main difference is the folding ability of the SE2 and the increased weight capacity (100 lbs for SE2 vs. 70 lbs for XTC-2). Another nice feature of the SE2 is the 7 inch rise in the shank to provide more ground clearance. The XTC-2 only has a 3 inch rise. This is especially important on vehicles with limited ground clearance.
Finally, the SE2 also offers more bumper clearance than the XTC-2. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the first wheel loop on the SE2 is 12 inches. The XTC-2 only measures 8 inches. If you measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the rear edge of your bumper (or rear mounted spare tire if you have one), you can determine how much clearance you will need for the bike rack to clear the bumper (or spare tire), see attached photo.
