Replacing The Flexguard On A 2016 Heartland RV Gateway Fifth Wheel 3400SE

Question:
I have a 2016 heartland gateway 3400SE 5th wheel. The flexguard for the TV room slide out has broken and is hanging down by the right side back tires. I have ordered the lippert hardware kit LC#1346271 single bracket. I have located the rod that the one end slides up onto which is c on the outer slide out. I am not sure where the opposite end screws onto. Can you please help. According to the diagram fig. 4 of the installation article this end should screw onto the main body of rv. Any instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Based on the pictures you've provided it looks like the other end is running up under a seal. In one of the pictures you can see where the strip broke and it looks like it was screwed to the bottom of the slide out box and that's where it separated from other portion of the strip. You'll need to pull that wiper seal back to reveal the screws holding the strip in place. It's typically just screwed into the box so you can just reuse the mounting holes when swapping in the new strip.
I've attached a short video below where Brad will walk you through the swap out. The Flexguard clips look good still on yours so I recommend you follow what Brad did and just slide them off and reuse them to avoid having to detach your wiring to get them through the clips.
