Do The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Need Disconnected Before Lifting On Vehicle Lift?
Updated 03/19/2023 | Published 03/18/2023 >
Question:
Will the F2245 kit for a 2wd Tundra cause an additional step in servicing? Meaning when lifting the vehicle on a 2 post lift and fully extending the suspension, will the airbag stretch enough to accommodate to action of the lift? Or will the springs need to be disconnected prior to vehicle raising?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2245 for your 2003 Toyota Tundra are safe to use with a vehicle lift. You will not need to support the axle or disconnect the air springs to use on a lift. Firestone uses a wire girdle and roll crimps their air springs to the mounting plates which are capable of supporting the weight of the axle hanging when put on a vehicle lift.
