Recommended Firestone Ride-Ride Air Helper Springs For A 2006 Toyota Tundra 2WD

Updated 05/24/2024 | Published 05/21/2024

Question:

Looking for a Firestone Ride-rite system for ride height control on a 2006 Tundra 2WD with a 2inch rear leveling by use of extended shackles. Will the specified kit work with the 2inch ? My bed has a TRD decal on it but I dont find TRD in the build sheet by serial number. I believe the bed was replaced after a rear-end accident. Do I need to confirm the TRD option and if so, how?

Hey Lee,

For a 2006 Toyota Tundra you would need the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2245 that you were already looking at. These springs are compatible with TRD and non-TRD models so you won't have an issue there. They do install in the same place as the brackets would for an in-bed hitch so you wouldn't be stuck with bumper pull trailers.

As for the 2" lift, both Firestone and Air Lift recommend installing the brackets first and then measuring gap between them to determine the spacer needed. A 2" lift doesn't always equate to an extra 2" gap when it comes to air springs. I've attached a guide below that shows the spacing and appropriate lift spacer.

1-1/4" Lift Spacer # F2536
2" Lift Spacer # F2366

Thanks Kevin, 2" leveling on the rear would be a lowering and not a lift. Please advise whether the kit will still work for me. thx

@LeeD That's my bad, I read that as a lift kit instead of leveling kit. What's the distance between the bottom of the frame to the top of the leaf spring stack right by the U-Bolts?
