Can Jeep Wrangler with Aftermarket Bumper be Flat Towed from D-Rings

Question:

I want to set up my jl Wrangler to flat tow using a bumper to be determined I have read several of your aswers to this however I am conflicted. You suggest it is OK with an aporved bumper, however Jeep/Stellantis says you should never flat tow from any bumper as the Bumper plate connection is not designed for the stresses of flat towing. as well the bumper plate is part of the crumple zone of the Wrangler making it designed to fail on impacts which flat towing can replicate tosome degree. Can you clarify if you have a solution for towing from a bumper since none of the bumpers I have found actually tie to the frame itself only the bumper plate and sometimes frame horn of which neither are considred the frame/

It really comes down to what the aftermarket bumper manufacturer will endorse and say is okay. If the bumper manufacturer states that their bumper can have it's D-rings used for connecting a tow bar it would be okay to do so.

If the D-rings are 3/4 inch wide you'd need the D-ring adapter part # RM-035 or if they are 1 inch wide you'd need the part # RM-035-1.
