Question:

I have a 2019 Vortex 2815V by genesis RV with a Lippert 1716 pin box . 13800 -GVWR 9640 -UVW 13800 x 0.22 = 3036 Which Gen Y fifth wheel gooseneck pin box will I need, and will I have clearance for both bed and turning on a 2020 F250 short bed? Thanks

Thank you for providing that information and calculation. Based on your 1716 pin box and the 3,036 lb tongue weight you need the Gen-Y Hitch # GY48FR. However, there will likely be some clearance issues unless your trailer has a tapered nose since this is designed for a long bed truck. To find if you have enough clearance use the following formula:

(A + B) - C = Clearance

A = Distance from the center of the gooseneck ball to the back of the truck cab
B = Length of offset
C = Width of trailer divided by 2

If the clearance is 4" or more you won't have a problem with 90 degree turns. The only other option would be to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch like the B&W Companion # BWRVK3370. You won't have any trouble with clearance if you use a hitch with a slider.
