I have a 2023 subaru ascent, and I want to purchase the lowest profile crossbars and ski rack possible. What is the lowest profile combo and how high will it sit over my stock longway rails on the car?

The lowest profile crossbars for your 2023 Ascent are going to be the Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar item # JA7980. These attach directly to your side rails and stick up only 1-3/16". They have a 176 lbs capacity and are 35-5/8" long.

The Yakima FatCat EVO 4 item # Y03095 will be the lowest profile and most aerodynamic carrier. It sits 4-5/8" above your crossbars. I have attached a diagram below that will show you the dimensions of this carrier.

Combined these two parts will stick up less than 6" above your roof's side rails.
