Is Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel - 60 Amp Good for 2 100 Amp Hour Lithium Batteries

Question:

We have a 2021 sunseeker with the 4060k progressive dynamics converter. We have the Li switch inside. Are we able to get 2 100ah lithium batteries to replace our lead acid batteries? Mercedes chassis diesel with smart alternator I believe.

The Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger part # PD4060K will charge lithium batteries yes. It has a 60 amp converter on-board. It sounds like you might be asking if this is correct for two 100 amp hour lithium batteries and if that's the case, we cannot confirm that unfortunately as the size of the converter has more to do with load than battery capacity. This is why we recommend replacing the converter with the same size that came with the RV. That said, there is a general rule you can use for converter size using the battery capacity. This rule states that the converter should be about 30% of the total battery bank amp hour capacity. Therefore, if you wired two 12 volt lithium batteries in parallel with a 100 amp hour capacity that would bring the total to 200 amp hours and 30% of this is 60 so you'd likely be good to go with the above.
