What Are the Claws Made of on the Inno Wedge 660 Rooftop Cargo Box

What material are the clamps made out of that attach the box to the roof rack cross bars? Metal? Plastic?

I spoke with Inno Racks about the Inno Wedge 660 Rooftop Cargo Box part # INBRM660WH and they informed me that the claws which secure the box to the crossbar are made of metal with a rubber coated sleeve. I have attached a photo below to help clarify.
