Troubleshooting A Stuck Pace Edwards Ultragroove Tonneau Cover That's Stuck After A Hard Freeze

Question:

bought a brand new pace edwards ultrgroove. worked fine for a week until we had a hard freeze. now the latches wont disengage to lock it in place. 55 degrees today, so its no longer frozen

If you had a hard freeze while the cover was wet and it's only had a little bit of time to unfreeze there could still be some ice build up that hasn't fully cleared to allow the locking mechanism to operate. If the truck wasn't sitting out in the sun just getting up to 55 for the day won't fully thaw everything out. How long has it had to actually thaw out?

There's not a lot to the latches on the Pace Edwards UltraGroove Metal Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-KMC95A17 so something would have to be in the latch preventing it from moving or in the track where the latches grip. I recommend trying out the latches and seeing if you can get any movement out of them.

If you could send some pictures of the latches and the track so I could look for obstructions it would be easier to figure out what's causing the issue.
