We have a Grand Design Solitude. The baggage door thickness is 1inch will this slam latch work. It says it is 1 3/4inch thick.

You can make the Global Link RV Baggage Door Slam Latch # 295-000078 work by using the Global Link Mounting Plate # 295-000017 and building up a little bit of a frame between the mounting plate and inside of the compartment door. I actually did this myself using some 1/4" thick plywood on a racing trailer generator door about a year ago. You'll just cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to 4-1/2" x 5-5/8" and cut out a hole 4-5/8" x 3-3/4" to allow the hardware to pass through.
