Question:

Im considering the AM20532 steel wheels but have a question. I have Lippert 12inch hub/drum Lippert #814202. These drums are on my 2017 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel. If you look at the design of these brake hub/drums the contact area between the wheel and drum is not continuous. On cars Im used to seeing a continuous contact area for the wheel. Im wondering are steel wheels like this approved for use with this Lippert style RV drum? BTW I think all RV drums are like this, and Keystone provided the spare on a steel wheel. And since you guys sell these wheels, Im thinking it must be okay, but it just doesnt look right to me, so Im wondering and thinking maybe these drums are only for use with cast aluminum type wheels. I can see exactly what you mean, though your Lippert hub and drum is 100 percent compatible with the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20532.

Your concern does have validity because hubs do have specific wheel sizes that they are designed to fit (your 814202 is designed to mount 14.5" to 16.5" wheels). This is to ensure optimal contact with the mounting surface available on the hub, and since the # AM20532 is a 15" wheel, you'll have exactly the amount of contact needed.

The only other thing you'll need for this wheel is a valve stem, the Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem # AM20906.
