Question:
I have 2 car 40 foot trailer with Dexter 2 7 thousand pd axles. How do I determine which nev-r adjust assembly I need?

Expert Reply:
Most 7K axles are going to use 12 inch by 2 inch brakes. To determine if these are the right size you can measure the internal diameter of the drum and the width where the pads would make contact with the drum.
I am confident that it will turn out to be 12 x 2 inches. For Dexter Nev-R-Adjust electric trailer brakes for 7K axles use # 23-465 for the right hand side and # 23-464 for the left hand side. These brake assemblies mount on a 5-bolt mounting flange.
Even though these are Nev-R-Adjust brakes you will need to do an initial set up (adjustment). I have included a link to a video that shows how to do this.
