Expert Reply:
A tow dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes part # RM-2050-1 does not need to be registered in the majority of states as they are designed exclusively for transporting a vehicle which falls outside the parameters for registration requirements in most states. That said, we cannot speak generally about every state nor do we have a list of all state's registration requirements therefore, in order to be sure your state does not require a tow dolly to be registered you must check with your local department of motor vehicles or the state highway patrol.
Please note, the tow dolly does come with everything needed for said registration if required by law.
