What To Do When Your Falcon 2 Tow Bar Crumples From Driving In Reverse

Question:
The road master 2 twisted up after backing up a Chevy traverse. It only backed up approximately 40 - 50 ft. How does this happen. Traverse was in neutral, same as when towed. I have sent pictures of the twisting.

Expert Reply:
Unfortunately tow bars are only designed to pull forward and will crumple just like yours did if you put any pressure on it going in reverse. The Brightside here is that you may be able to get away with just replacing the arms if they are the only damaged part.
You'll need two of part # C000172 and you'll want to watch the attached video below where Joe will walk you through replacing the arms.
If you end up having other broken parts on your tow bar send me a picture and I'll try to find the correct replacements for you.
