Kayak saddle or J style carrier for Yakima Overhaul HD rack What do you recommend for carrying kayaks on Yakima Overhaul HD rack mounted on Retrax MX rails?

Kayak carrier style really boils down to how you plan on using your Yakima OverHaul HD ladder rack. If you plan on just carrying 2 kayaks then saddle style will be easier to use since you can set into the back of the truck as you're loading the boats. If you need to carry more than a few kayaks or you need additional cargo space then J-Style is what you want.

For a saddle style I really like the Yakima Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs - Saddle Style w/ Rollers # Y04083-04082 because it's easy to install and the rollers make it easier to get the kayak up on top of the ladder rack. If you need J-Style then I recommend the Yakima JayLow # Y04073 because the mounting system is extremely easy to use, it looks sleek, and the upright can be folded down when you aren't using it.
