Wall Thickness and Pin Hole Diameter of B and W Defender Locking Gooseneck Coupler Inner Tube
Updated 12/13/2022 | Published 12/11/2022 >
Question:
I currently have a BX1 25k PN 1289090300. Will the BW replace it directly? My pin size is 7/8. What is the wall thickness of the BW? It appears my BX1 is .25, and Id like a little more if I am going to upgrade. Does the key lock function as the safety on the automatic coupler? I change trailers multiple times a day and dont want to mess with a key especially on our dusty roads. Theft is not a concern. Thank YOu for the help

Expert Reply:
I checked with B and W and the Defender Locking Gooseneck Coupler Inner Tube part # BWGNC4250 has a wall thickness of .318 inch and the pin diameter it would need to be used with is 7/8 inch. The lock doesn't have to be used either so you can connect to it and disconnect from it without having to use the lock.
