Question:
Hi Looking at regulators for an RV with basic equipment: Refrigerator, hot water heater, stove and a Suburban SF 30FQ. I run all appliances on propane. I’m confused on which BTU rating would be best. I need a two stage with automatic switch over. Thanks in advance

All of the RV regulators we carry are going to work down the output pressure to 11" water column. That pressure will always stay the same but the amount of BTU's you can spread between the appliances can vary depending on the regulator.
For a dual stage automatic changeover propane regulator we have two options; the JR Products # 37207-30395 (345,000 BTU) and # 37207-31525 (262,500 BTU).
If you wanted to see exactly what rating you would need you could check the BTU rating for each propane burning appliance and add them together to see what the maximum requirement would be. That being said the likelihood that all appliances would be on and at full blast is very small.
For just a fridge, water heater, stove and furnace you'd most likely be fine using the lower rated # 37207-31525, but you can go with the higher rated # 37207-30395 if you plan to run more propane appliances in the future. Both of these regulators have a indicator gauge on top and a quick use switchover lever to easily swap between tanks.
