Can You Use Tailgate Handle Lock/Unlock Wires for Pop & Lock Power Locking Handle for Truck Caps

My tailgate locks and unlocks with the key fob, can I just tap into those wires instead of going all the way to the front of the truck?

Yes, you can splice into the tailgate handle lock/unlock wires if equipped when installing the Pop & Lock Power Locking Handle for Truck Caps and Hard Tonneau Covers part # PAL9555. The provided instructions are used when there is no locking tailgate handle which is more common. That said, there are no charts for the wire colors of the tailgate handle lock/unlock so you will need to figure this out yourself by testing the wires with a circuit tester. You may also need to figure out a way to access these wires but none of this will be hard, just some willingness and patience is all that's required.
