The Optronics Flush Mount LED Backup Light you referenced, part # BUL35CB can indeed be mounted onto the deck of a car trailer. The lamp is sealed, so you will have no worries about water entering the lamp housing. You would also need a grommet, part # A33GB and the wiring pigtail, part # A45CB.
