Question:

I am looking to flat tow a 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn, which is a crew cab 4x4. I wanted to plus up the weight capacity of the tow bar. I did place the 1500 tow plate and an 8k tow bar into my cart, can you see my cart to confirm it will fit/work? Also, is there any nonsplice option for wiring and what options are there to include brakes? Thank you.

To flat tow your 2019 Ram 1500 you'll need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, braking system, baseplate, and safety cables. While I'm not able to see the items in your cart I can definitely recommend an option that will fit:

Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-522203-5. This baseplate will fit 5.7, 3.6 & 3.0 EcoDiesel motors. If you have a 3.0 EcoDiesel V6 with lower Active Air Grille Shutters then you'll need the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM74MR instead.

Tow Bar: Since you want some extra capacity I recommend the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e84ZR. This tow bar has a 10.5K capacity, but you will need to know the towing capacity of your motorhome/the capacity of its trailer hitch and ensure you stay within its limits.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: The only non-splice option available for your Ram would be magnetic lights, which wouldn't do well with a truck since you have very limited mounting options. I highly recommend going with the splice in option # RM-15267. It's honestly a lot simpler than most think to install these kits and they tend to have way less issues than plug-in or magnetic light options. I've attached a video below where Joe will walk you through this installation.

This way also give you a 6-way socket to install a charge line kit to keep your Ram's battery charged while you tow.

Braking System: For the braking system I recommend the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This system gives you a remote to allow you to monitor when the brakes are being applied and adjust brakes settings without having to get out of your motorhome. The included charge line kit will help keep your Ram's battery charged.

If you'd like a permanent install system then I'll need to know what type of brakes your motorhome has and if it's a diesel pusher or not to find the correct system for your needs.

Safety Cables: The # e84ZR comes with safety cables included that hook onto the tow bar so you don't have to worry about purchasing them separately or having them drag on the ground.
