Question:
Do I need to use stabilizing straps with the EcoHitch for 2018 Ford C-Max? If so, can you explain why the Draw-Tite hitch does not require straps? Thank you

Expert Reply:
EcoHitch / Drawtite does not require the use of stabilizer straps like # 18050 when used with non-support loads like a bike rack or cargo carrier, and not using them will not effect the warranty of the trailer hitch.
It would not hurt to use The Stabilizer Straps # 18050 on The EcoHitch # 306-X7200 because it will provide extra support which is always a good thing.
The straps all limit torque placed on the hitch receiver, it also has a vinyl-coated hook that won't scratch your vehicle.
