Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement For A 2017 Nissan Titan

Question:

2017 Nissan Titan SL, rear wheel drive, 115,000 miles I pull a 30’ travel trailer weighing about 7500 lbs. I use an equalizer hitch and friction sway bar. The hitch keeps the truck level. The truck has enough power and braking feels sufficient but suspension feels marginal. I do not feel at ease when towing on the highway. I feel like the 1/2 ton truck is maxed out when towing. I need a 3/4 ton truck but can afford that option. I have a few questions: Is this system in lieu of using an equalizer hitch? If so, do you believe it is better? Will it improve my situation if used in conjunction with the equalizer hitch?

Expert Reply:

Yes, The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-HD will improve your situation when being used with your Equalizer hitch.

This system will help improve stability, handling, and control. The system has a durable, epoxy e-coated steel construction and has an easy, bolt-on installation.

The system has a weight capacity of 3,000 pounds. Using this system will not increase your vehicle's weight-carrying capacity.

You also should check and make sure your factory suspension is fine. A vehicle that has that many miles on it could have worn out components and will need to be replaced. Suspension enhancement is for components in good shape if anything is worn out it will not work right.
