Question:

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab 4x4 with the 6-1/2” stepside bed. I was wondering if any company makes a gooseneck hitch that mounts under the bed with a ball that s hidden away when not in use that is compatible with my truck, or if there are any custom fabricated options you could steer me towards. I am willing to go custom if there aren’t any options available for my truck. I need a gooseneck hitch. Thank you.

Yes, there is a gooseneck hitch that mounts under the bed of your 2005 GMC Sierra 1500. It is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # BWGNRK1059. This is the only underbed gooseneck system that is confirmed to fit the step side bed models of the Sierra 1500.

This system fits the LD and HD models as well.

To make towing with a gooseneck trailer easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your trailer easier and more convenient.
