Is Weight Distribution System Needed to Tow 16 ft Caravel with 2015 GMC Sierra 1500

Question:

My tow vehicle is a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 pulling a 16ft Caravel. Do I need to add a anti sway bar to my hitch or will the truck pull well without it?

You'd probably be okay without a weight distribution system but I pulled up the weight of an Airstream Caravel and found that it weighs 3,500 lbs and has a tongue weight of 500 lbs which is enough weight that you would see benefit by going with a WD system like the Rees Pro part # RE34FR. Normally if the weight of the camper is over half the weight of the vehicle a WD system is recommended.
