I have a 2015 X5 Xdrive50i with M package. and Im trying to tow my boat which is 5800lb. would you please let me know what models works with my car? M Sport package

I recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e84AR for your 2015 BMW X5 with the M Sport Package. This has been confirmed to fit that specific package and I like the matte black finish because it's hidden better and better protected against the elements than the glossy black finish that we find on the other hitch receivers. The max tow weight rating for this hitch is 6,000 lbs but you'll need to double check in your owner's manual how much your vehicle can tow because the vehicle is typically the limiting factor.

For a simple wiring kit to activate your trailer lights I recommend the T-One # TK47FR which tees in behind your tail lights and pulls power directly from your battery.

Then to complete your towing setup you need a type of ball mount like what we have in the Ball Mount Kit # 989900.

Please note that the size of your trailer likely means you have brakes that need to be utilized and you might consider using a weight distribution system for level towing.
