Question:
Installing ETBC7 kit. He do I find a backup light circuit on a 2022 Toyota Highlander? Both lights are on the lift gate, which makes running a wire to them not practical. Thank you for your help. Need for my boat trailer Hydraulic brakes.

The easiest way to determine which wire is your reverse light wire so you can install the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, is to go to the rear of the vehicle where your taillights are located and pull the housings off of the vehicle to have access to those wires.
From here, you're going to want to turn the car on, engage the emergency brake, and then shift the vehicle into reverse.
At this point your housing should be off of the vehicle, and the wires should be exposed giving you complete access. With the reverse lights active, you'll just need to take note of what light turns on and which wires are associated with that, then trace the wires back.
I have also included an installation video on a 2019 Toyota Highlander, and while he doesn't demonstrate what I mentioned above, he does do a great job explaining everything else for the install.
