To install the Replacement Male Buckle and Strap for Extang Trifecta and Trifecta Signature Tonneau Cover # EX54440400, you will need to gain access to one end of the center support beam that the male buckle straps slide on. The replacement straps have a loop on them, this allows them to slide on the beam. You will slide the replacement strap(s) on and then reassemble the cover.

How do you "gain access"? Is there a video that can be shared?

@Adam what you’re really doing is partially taking apart the end of the support bow (that center crossbar) so you can slide the new strap on. The straps aren’t bolted in, they ride along that bar, so you just need an open end to feed them on. Start by opening the cover and folding it up so you can clearly see the center support beam. At one end of that beam, there will be either a plastic end cap or a bracket that’s held in place with a screw or two. That’s your entry point. Remove that end cap or loosen the bracket just enough to free the end of the bar. You don’t have to completely disassemble the cover, just create enough space so the end of the beam is exposed. Once that end is open, take your replacement strap (the looped end is the key here) and slide it directly onto the beam. It should move along the bar just like the original one did. Position it roughly where the old strap sat.
