Question:
Hello, Would like a class III 2 hitch for a 2017 Honda CRV Touring with foot activated lift gate sensor. Draw-Tite DT79MR seems right but not sure about Touring model. Also wiring kit. Thanks.

We do have a hitch for the Touring model of the 2017 Honda CR-V. It is the etrailer Trailer Hitch item # e98848. This is the only hitch confirmed to fit the Touring model. As far as the foot activated lift gate sensor is concerned there is a relocation kit from Honda. Most of the time there is a sweet spot a few inches to the left and or right of the 2" x 2" receiver that allows the hands free lift gate to work properly. If you are unable to get yours to work you will need to go to your local dealership to get the relocation kit from Honda as that is not available in the aftermarket.
For a wiring harness you will want the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118741. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Honda's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side interior trim panel. This will provide you with a 4-flat connector that will allow you to control your trailer or accessories lighting functions.
To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
