How does the RM-501 tow bar, which I have connect to the the part # RM-521451-5 brackets which I need for my 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk

The Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501 attaches to Roadmaster base plates using a cross bar mount. You will need the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # RM-521451-4 for your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. The Base Plate Kit # RM-521451-5 uses direct connect arms that can only be used with a tow bar like the Falcon All Terrain # RM-522.

You will need the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267, and Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 for the electrical portion when flat towing your Jeep. This will control the tail lights and maintain the battery while flat towing.

If your tow vehicle uses hydraulic brakes I recommend the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR. This systems is proportional and only activates the brakes when it sees the tail lights are being activated and feels the inertia of the vehicle stopping. This will prevent any false braking. If your tow vehicle uses air brakes the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # DM26VR will be the system you need. This will tie into the air brakes to ensure the brakes only activate when the air brakes are used and will not activate when using an exhaust brake.
