Question:

Im looking for a new vehicle to dinghy tow behind my motorhome. Im leaning toward a 2021 gently-used Chevrolet Equinox Premier. Can this vehicle be towed with all 4 wheels down? What parts will I need to accomplish this? Im not 100 certain of what else Ill need.

Yes, according to the owners manual for the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox it can be flat towed (dinghy towed). In order to do this you will need at least 5 main parts. Those parts being a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring and a supplemental braking system. I have included these parts below along with a brief description of their purpose.

Base Plate Kit: This is a custom fit part that provides the needed attachment points for the tow bar on your Equinox.

- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523193-5

Tow Bar: Comes from the motorhome and attaches to the base plate kit on your Equinox.

- Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676 (compatible with the above base plate kit) this tow bar also include the safety cables so you will not need to get them separately.

Tow Bar Wiring: Allows you to use your Chevrolet Equinox's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

Supplemental Braking System: Allows you to safely travel with and stop your Equinox while flat towing.
