Troubleshooting Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Calibration
Updated 06/30/2022 | Published 06/29/2022 >
Question:
I just installed the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller in a 2021 Kia Telluride with tow package. Installation was a snap with one of your installation videos. The thing I struggled was identifying whether the controller was calibrated and works. Maybe I missed the green and blue blinking lights indicating the calibration, but other than that there is no light, except when you push the manual override button, then you get the blue breathing light, which makes sense as no trailer is connected. I have not yet connected any trailer. So the question is, whether there should be any indication light if no trailer is connected or only once a trailer is connected? Thanks!

Helpful Expert Reply:
When it comes to installing The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED52VR if there is no trailer connected, the active calibration may occur as normal without any indication from the LED., provided your brake light trigger point is active when there is no trailer attached.
The LED will already be blue when the trailer is connected. Essentially whether a trailer is connected or not, just drive normall and active calibration will ensure the Tow-Pro Liberty learns the correct direction of travel.
