Is there some red type paint I need to apply to the male end?

The Replacement Female Quick Disconnect for Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System part # SM99613 doesn't require any additional solvent for installation. The nut simply compresses the collar, it doesn't need a locking compound or thread sealer.
