Replacement 7,000 lbs Capacity Surge Brake Actuator

Question:

Good afternoon, Im a long-time [happy] customer with etrailer, and I believe this is my first inquiry. I am doing an overhaul of my trailer that Im the second owner of, and I discovered the reason the trailer tends to bang around a lot during stop and go is because the surge piston assembly is rotted out. It is a Titan model from the late 90s, and it most similar to the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum - Multi-Fit Ball - Bolt On - 7,000 lbs Item # T43397007K you stock. The trailer itself is a Venture single axle with 3w x 4h steel tubing typ, and my existing Titan coupler is about 17inch long. for a 21foot cuddy Rinker boat, probably the maximum size / weight boat for this trailer. In terms of usage, I do about 1000 miles of trailering per year at typically 150-200 miles each way. Im not the original owner and do not know all the weight specs, but anytime I replace anything on it, I always go for the maximum capacity options to ensure Im on the right side of safe. If you made me guess Id say the boat is in the realm of 4000lb empty to 5000lb gas + cargo. Can you please either confirm the Titan Item # T43397007K is the best direct replacement and/or recommend if there is a better coupler I should consider? Thanks for the pictures! The Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator item # T43397007K fits a 3" wide channel, can fit 2 inch or 1-7/8 inch hitch balls, and has a 7,000 lbs capacity. It is by far the best option to replace your old Titan Brake actuator.

This actuator is a direct replacement for Titan T4339700 and 43397007K actuators.
