Helpful Expert Reply:
The diameter of each fastener hole is 5/16 of an inch. The overall dimensions of this D-Ring are 3-1/2 inches by 5 inches. The center to center distance between the each fastener hole is 2 inches, and a total of 4 inches between the outermost holes.
To install this D-Ring, you will need a hole that is 3 inches in diameter, and recessed 5/16 of an inch, for a proper mounting location. I have included photos showing these dimensions for your reference.
