How to Determine Function of Trailer Wiring

Question:
I bought a 7 way junction box and connector. Unfortunately my truck are not SAE white, black, red, green, yellow, brown and blue How do I test what’s hot and ground? I have 2 blacks and one red. The others are multicolored.

The only way to determine the functions of trailer wiring is to use a circuit tester and test each wire; the easiest to use is the Cordless Circuit Tester # PTW2979.
