Thule Insta-Gator Pro Bike Rack Preventing 2010 Toyota Tundra Tailgate From Opening

Question:

I have a 2010 Toyota Tundra. When I installed the rack the tailgate wouldnt open. Is there a trick to installing the two anchors to avoid this problem

I can't say I've heard of this happening before but if you've tightened the ratcheting straps for the Thule Insta-Gator Pro # TH93VR really tight then the base pressing up super snug to the tailgate of your 2010 Toyota Tundra might be what's preventing you from opening the tailgate. What I'd try doing is installing the Insta-Gator Pro but instead of tightening the straps all the way take turns ratcheting the straps and opening up the tailgate to see wat what point the tailgate won't open anymore and then install the rack accordingly.
