I checked the owner's manual of your, 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. You can flat tow this vehicle provided it is a 4X4. You will not need a battery disconnect to flat tow this vehicle. You need to remove the IGN 0 fuse. Your fuse box should have a diagram on the inside cover.
You will need the following items to flat tow your vehicle, a base plate, tow bar, a supplemental brake controller, and a diode kit for lighting.
You will need the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms, part # BX1682. This base plate is hidden, until you need to flat tow your vehicle. I recommend pairing it with the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,500 lbs, part # BX7380. It is a non-binding tow bar, so it connects and disconnects easily.
Next you will need the supplemental brake controller. The Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional, part # HM39524 is my recommendation. It has a simple installation and you can control the braking pressure from inside your RV.
You will need the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, part # RM-15267. It splices into your existing wiring to allow your towed vehicle to mirror the lighting of your RV.
If your RV does not have a 12V hot wire, you will need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes, part # RM-156-75. This is so your RV battery will allow up to 15 amps to be used to your flat towed vehicle's battery. If you use the RV charge line kit, you will also need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, part # RM-156-25, for your towed vehicle.
I have included product description links and video review links below.
