Troubleshooting a Voyager Brake Controller for No Lights When Brake is Applied
Updated 09/19/2013 | Published 09/18/2013 >
Question:
Hello, I installed a Curt voyager brake controller on my 2003 GMC Sierra SLE. I wired it with the plug and play adapter, I have a factory 7 way. Once I installed it, it displayed 1 single red light and after several minutes it displayed a single green light when the brake pedal was depressed, without the trailer attached. When I attached the trailer and pressed the brake, the display is blank. Any ideas on the wiring? Obviously there is power. Thank you kindly.

Have you tried testing the controller with the trailer connected and the truck moving? The vehicle needs to be moving for the controller to work. Otherwise you might need to set the level of the controller.
I attached a picture that I took from the troubleshooting chart of the installation instructions that covers the issue you are having with this controller.
